I was talking with the recruiter and department for about 2 months, which felt like a long time. I had maybe 3-4 phone calls with the recruiter. Then I had 2 interviews: the first one was with a senior employee in the department, and the second one was with that same employee and their boss. The interviews seemed to go well and were relaxed, and I felt like I did a really good job. They seemed very interested in my experience, which was directly relevant. Even though I didn't get an offer, the recruiter let me know about 2 weeks after my last interview. I was bummed, especially since I got no feedback on why I wasn't selected. I was just told the team liked my experience but made an offer to someone else who accepted. I was pretty disappointed because I put in so much time and was sure I would impress them if given the chance. But these things happen. It's frustrating, especially as a woman in STEM. I just wish I had gotten more useful feedback about not being chosen and hadn't focused so much on this opportunity.

The interview was super chill, everyone was so nice and seemed genuinely stoked to have you there. We started off by chatting about YETI's history and awesome culture, and then moved into the actual interview part. Definitely do your homework before you go! They're looking for people who are just as hyped about the brand as they are. Research YETI's products, their brand ambassadors, and their core values. Doing this will not only get you pumped for the interview but also totally impress them.

I had a really good time during the interview process. It felt super organized, scheduled perfectly, and the campus visit was pretty cool. Honestly, for an internship, it was surprisingly smooth and not too difficult.
