I made it to the 3rd round for an interview but decided to withdraw my application after a distasteful experience with the Sr Finance Director. The whole interview felt demeaning. The questions asked were for a controller role, not aligned with the job description or my resume. When I declined to move forward because the position/company didn't align with my career goals, the interviewer rudely insulted me, questioning my university's accreditation. I have 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, and I'm proud of my education from the University of Houston. The interviewer's tone and approach lacked the respect and professionalism I expect in a working environment. Also, I was given 3 different reasons why the position was open during the interviews, which was a huge red flag. I hope Worley improves how senior-level positions conduct interviews and represent the company.

Technical Behavioral

So, the first step was a recruiter call, and then I had a technical discussion. They asked me to give an introduction and then discuss my past projects, any research papers I've put out, and what I did in them. They were also really curious about my experience with design tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS, asking how I'd used them. I went over how I was involved in both the design and analysis phases, and how I managed the technical tasks and the paperwork.

Behavioral Technical Case

First, you'll submit your application with your resume and cover letter online. After that, a recruiter might call you to chat about your background, why you're interested, and if you meet the basic requirements. If they like you, you'll have a technical interview where they'll ask you civil engineering questions, see how you solve problems, and check your technical knowledge. They'll also ask behavioral questions to see how you handle tough situations, work with others, and if you fit with the company's values. Depending on the job, you might get a technical assessment or a case study to test your analysis and problem-solving skills. Finally, there might be an interview with senior people or management, which goes deeper into both your technical skills and whether you'd fit in. If all goes well, you'll get a job offer with the details.

Behavioral Group Presentation

First, there was a virtual meeting, initially in Spanish asking basic personal questions and why you want to work at Worley, then in English. Second, a face-to-face group interview, there were 15 of us for two different positions. Someone from each area explained what they do. It was quite disorganized, they had a presentation but didn't use it. They asked us more about our thoughts on the area instead of explaining it themselves. It ran so long that we only managed to do 2 out of 4 planned group activities. One was to introduce ourselves and pick an object, character, and animal we identify with. The other was to choose from a list what to take to war without exceeding the weight limit. They didn't mention benefits, salary, or work modality at all. I felt like we weren't even being evaluated, one person was on their phone the whole time.
