So initially they had scheduled 3 rounds, 2 of which were online elimination rounds, and 1 on-site round. Depending on how I performed in those 2 online rounds, I would then proceed to the on-site. But after completing the 2 online rounds, the recruiter told me that they were looking to hire for a Principal Engineer role, which is actually two levels above my current position. So, they added one more online round before the actual on-site round.

I'm sharing my experience interviewing for the Contingent Workforce Compliance Program Manager role. The interviewer, who was based internationally, really dug into the gaps in my work history and kept asking if I'd be a flight risk. These gaps were due to a layoff and a COVID layoff, which I had explained. It felt more like an interrogation than a conversation about my skills and over 15 years of experience in contingent workforce and compliance. I barely got to talk about my achievements or how my experience fit the job. The whole interview was uncomfortable and didn't feel like a fair or respectful process. It seemed like they made assumptions instead of evaluating my qualifications.

So I had this interview with Sandisk. It started with a recruiter call, they seemed really keen. Then I spoke with the hiring manager, who hit me with a bunch of quick questions, which was kinda weird 'cause the recruiter said it would be a casual chat. After that, they told me they were working on a case study for me, which they hadn't mentioned before. So, two rounds in, and bam, a take-home case study was dropped on me. I took half a day off work to get it done, no complaints. Then came a panel with 3 people, and two debriefs about the case study. I'd taken another half day to do them back-to-back, but they rescheduled the last one to the next day at 5:30pm. Got a generic rejection email about a week and a half later, zero feedback.

So the first round was an online test. It had MCQs covering core subjects like OS, DBMS, COA, and CN. Then there was an aptitude section with 30 quantitative questions. After that, it was a DSA section with three problems: LCA in a Binary Tree, Partitioning DP, and String Matching (Rabin Karp or LPS). Round 2 was another coding round, but this time we had to do it on blank paper. They asked for two questions: one was Merge Sort, and the other was swapping the first and last bit of a 32-bit integer, making sure all other bits remained the same.
