Data Engineer
The interview involved technical questions about data transformations using Scala Spark and SQL, along with conceptual questions covering Big Data technologies like Hive, Spark, and Kafka. There were also questions about Airflow and optimizing Spark jobs.

Software Engineer Intern
I chatted with recruiters at a WiCSE career fair, which was great for getting my application to the right people. Then I had an online assessment with two parts: a LeetCode-style section with easy/medium problems, and another where I had to fix bugs in a backend system to pass specific tests, using an AI assistant. Even though I only got 2 out of 6 test cases to pass, I was invited for an online interview. This interview felt technical and behavioral, but without any direct coding questions like LeetCode. The interviewer wasn't the best, but the questions themselves were pretty easy.
- How would you handle a teammate who isn't contributing their fair share?
- Describe your process for using AI as a tool.
- What's your method for determining the reliability of AI-generated output?
Specialist
The process was clear, and the team was welcoming and professional. They guided me throughout the entire process, and I always knew what the next steps would be. Communication from the whole team was good and constant.
- Can you describe your experience?
- What experience do you have in this sector?
- What are your skills?
SRE Engineer
So basically, it was not an offer. Round 1: they asked me all sorts of CS questions. But I think the most bizarre question was they asked about my current employer way too much, which made me uncomfortable, maybe to assess how competitive they were or to assess if I really worked there. Round 2: The interviewer was not prepared, they asked me to rotate the linked list K times, and was expecting me to optimize even after I wrote O(n) time and O(1) space.
