It was a 2-round interview process. First, there was a take-home assessment with an advanced SQL question on BigQuery, which also involved visualizing it on BQ. It was pretty straightforward and I had 24 hours to complete it. Second, I had a 1-hour hiring manager round with a Director from Walmart. They reviewed my resume and asked in-depth questions about my previous experience, as well as about Spark and how parallelism works. This interview actually finished in 25 minutes.

I interviewed for Walmart Bangalore in July. The first round was based on DS/Algo questions. I was given 2 questions to solve but there was enough time to solve only one since the interviewer was late. I described the solution for the second one. The interviewer seemed to be in a hurry to wrap up and didn't seem interested. Even though I answered the questions and gave the optimal solution, I got a NO from Walmart after following up. No explanation was given for what went wrong. Interviewers seem to have a specific answer in mind for a question and if you say anything different, they lose interest. It was a negative experience overall. Don't get your hopes up after performing well. It feels like they decide who to choose randomly.

  • Graph problems involving BFS, DFS, and connected components.
