First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Valeo.
Software Engineer
I applied online, and then had an HR screening, followed by a technical interview, and finally a management interview. It was for a backend role, and they asked general software engineering questions. The interviewers were good, but I didn't hear back for months and the portal never updated.

Purchasing Controller
The interview process was quite disappointing. After clearing the first round, I was invited for an onsite interview, which involved a significant time commitment, traveling five hours each way. The interview itself went very well, and both HR and the hiring manager gave positive feedback. However, two days later, I was informed that the position was exclusively for European nationals who had not previously interned in Germany. This eligibility criterion was clear on my CV and should have been caught during the initial screening. I think this oversight could have been avoided, and my application should have been respectfully declined earlier.

Contrôleur De Gestion
The hiring process has a few steps to check skills and see if the candidate fits the role. First, a 30-min chat with the HRBP to talk about the company, the job, and the candidate's general motivations. Then, a 1-hour meeting with the manager to dive deep into technical skills, past work experience, and how well they'd fit the team. Lastly, a 15-min chat with the HRBP to wrap things up, answer any last questions, go over terms, and get a final feel for the candidate before deciding.
- Why are you choosing Valeo over any other company?
Procurement Executive
The interview process starts with an HR screening via phone or video call, mainly to check your background, motivation and if you are a good fit for Valeo’s culture. Next, you’ll have a technical interview with the Procurement Manager to see how much you know about procurement, strategic thinking, and managing suppliers. After that, there’s a panel interview or a case study to check your problem-solving skills and how well you work with others. Finally, you’ll have a final interview with Senior Leadership to see if your vision and leadership align with Valeo’s global procurement strategy.
