Mechanical Engineer
So the hiring process usually goes like this: first, you give a good rundown of your work history, emphasizing what you've done and achieved. Then, you talk about where you see yourself going, to show how your plans fit with what the company is looking for. Lastly, they hit you with some technical questions, often based on a significant experience or a main project, to check your skills, how you tackle problems, and your systematic approach in real work situations.
- Can you tell me about one of your strengths and a past challenge you faced, along with your solution?
Mechanical Engineer
I had a first phone call, then a Skype interview with an HR person and an engineer. The internship salary is very attractive (1524€ gross/month + end-of-internship bonuses). There were no technical questions, just basic HR questions. The people were nice. On the other hand, I understood there's no possibility of hiring after the internship (this probably depends on the sector!).
- Tell me about the Valeo group.
Mechanical Engineer
The first round was a written MCQ test for 1 hour. After a 3-hour wait, selected candidates moved to the second round, which was a Technical HR interview lasting 20 minutes. Candidates then waited for another hour before the third round, which was an HR interview where salary was discussed. I reached the final round but haven't received any offer yet. HR is not responding properly to my follow-ups.
- What are the basics of mechanical engineering?
- Can you tell me about your final year project work?
