Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Valeo.
Contrôleur De Gestion
The hiring process has a few steps to check skills and see if the candidate fits the role. First, a 30-min chat with the HRBP to talk about the company, the job, and the candidate's general motivations. Then, a 1-hour meeting with the manager to dive deep into technical skills, past work experience, and how well they'd fit the team. Lastly, a 15-min chat with the HRBP to wrap things up, answer any last questions, go over terms, and get a final feel for the candidate before deciding.
- Why are you choosing Valeo over any other company?
Contrôleur De Gestion
I chose management control through work-study because I've always been passionate about numbers and financial analysis. I want to contribute directly to companies' success by helping them make informed decisions and improve their performance. Also, management control is a constantly evolving field, which will allow me to stay constantly stimulated and acquire new skills. Finally, work-study will allow me to put my academic knowledge into practice while developing concrete professional experience.
- What motivated your choice of management control?
Cost Controller
HR kicked things off with some basic questions, pretty much the standard stuff you'd find if you Googled 'interview questions'. Then, I chatted with my direct supervisor. They asked about my background and past experiences, and then walked me through the day-to-day work routine. Since they were specifically looking for an intern, the interview wasn't too tough.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
