Investment Associate
So, I had a HORRIBLE interview experience. The hiring manager picked my resume super fast after seeing the posting and set up my interview before the recruiter even did. The recruiter was really unresponsive and then scheduled my phone screen on the same day as my final panel interview, right before it. After I had my panel interviews (with a VP and a Manager on separate Zoom calls), they all ghosted me. No replies to any follow-ups, and then they reposted the job on LinkedIn.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to handle two conflicting priorities at once?
Copywriter
Started with an HR interview where they asked standard questions. Then, I spoke with the Hiring Manager who asked me about my experience. The conversation was friendly and relaxed, but I didn't feel like I was moving forward. I never heard back, not even a rejection.
- Can you explain how different funnel stages influence copy?
Software Engineer
I had a 15-min recruiter call to learn about the company, then a 30-min Zoom with the hiring manager about the role. After that, there were back-to-back 45-min Zoom calls with 4 team members, totaling 1.5 hours. The team was nice, but there seemed to be a communication issue between them and the recruiter. The recruiter would give me details before each interview, but the actual interviews were different. She said the hiring manager would discuss the position and my background, but it started with a coderpad right away. The 1.5-hour panel, which she said was the final round and focused on core values, ended up being two more technical coderpads with no core values discussion. I solved all the technical problems, but I was rejected because I didn't explain my approach well enough, partly because I was stressed about the core values aspect.
- Can you explain a technical concept to someone without a technical background?
- Describe a technical challenge you recently encountered and how you resolved it.
Senior Paid Search Manager
I interviewed for the role and went through two rounds. One of the rounds was with the person I would report to, a leadership role. After that, I followed up several times over weeks with no reply. Then I was told the job was closed and wouldn't be filled. Not long after, I saw the same job posted again with higher qualifications. I reached out again to say I was still interested in the updated role, but I never heard back. It was disappointing not to get clear communication, especially after getting that far. For a big company with recruiters, you'd think they could manage follow-ups and updates. It seems like this is a common issue based on my experience and other reviews. Candidates deserve to be treated respectfully with timely updates, especially after spending time interviewing.
- Can you describe your approach to people management?

“Given that you have 10,000 riders to 70 drivers for a Lyft market, and your current conversion rate is 50 potential drivers to 1 actual driver, what would be the cost to achieve a rider to driver ratio of 100 to 1, using only pen and paper and no prior client information?”
