My interview experience was pretty bad, I withdrew even though I made it to the final round. First, the recruiter was 15 minutes late for our scheduled call and then texted saying the time didn't work. This was an early warning sign. Then, in the initial screening, the recruiter mentioned they were hiring for both Senior Analyst and Manager roles and asked if I'd be open to being considered for both, promising to keep me updated. Throughout the interview rounds, I kept asking which position I was being considered for, but never got a clear answer. When I reached the final round, the recruiter falsely claimed I had agreed to only be considered for the Senior Analyst role, which I have in writing. I withdrew at this point. For a company that claims to be people-centric, this was a poor showing and they need to hire better recruitment staff if they want to keep talent.

Behavioral Presentation

I first connected with Elite's HR for an initial chat, which was basically swapping info about Elite SEM's business and culture, and then I talked about my design and web development background. Next up was a chat with the CRO manager who was building out a new division; we discussed how my creative skills could help that specific part of the company. The last phone call was with the VP, and they grilled me a bit more. It was a bit of a surprise because the first two chats were so laid-back, but this time I really had to sell myself on my potential value.

Technical Behavioral

So I spoke with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and then had a technical interview. I got through 3 rounds before they decided to go another way. The recruiter was nice, but the technical interview was really out there for a media role. They had me on a call and said no excel, sheets, or calculator. They just started feeding me numbers for a fake client verbally. I had to write it all down and do calculations by hand as questions came up. I've worked in media forever and never had to do mental math like that for a client I knew nothing about. It wasn't even an analyst job, so I don't get why I had to do real-time mental math to show I'm a good people manager and media manager.
