First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The UPS Store.
Sales Associate
I booked an interview time-slot through indeed and practiced basic interview questions. Showed up 15 minutes early to the store and we started the interview right away, just tucked away on the side of the store. The first questions was "Tell me about yourself." The interviewer was very receptive. They made the interview feel more natural, like a conversation. We discussed relevant job experiences and a handful of situational questions were asked. Like: how you deal with upset customers? how did you solve a problem in your workplace? I was also asked how I might approach the learning curve to dealing with packages when there are strict guidelines about what you can and can't do. Then, we discussed more basic things like the commute and wrapped up the interview! It wasn't just me talking about myself either, the employer took some time to describe the workplace. Overall, the interview probably lasted just under 20 minutes.

Customer Service Associate
This was a pretty quick interview process, though it really depends on the specific store and the manager(s) in charge. Since the stores are franchised and owned independently, you'll likely only have one interview, with two being the most common. Overall, it's a fairly easy process.

Associate
I had a really bad experience at this specific UPS Store, but it might not be like that everywhere. The manager was nice at first, and it was more casual than I thought. But, most of the interview, she was in and out of her office, on the phone buying stuff while I was there. She also talked bad about her employees to me and shared way too much about her personal life. In the hour and a half interview, she only asked four real questions. She didn't seem focused on interviewing me at all. While we were talking, I heard employees yelling at each other, and she just acted like it was normal. That made me uncomfortable, so I didn't say much. She mentioned that most people she hires quit or ghost after a week, and I could understand why. It was just a bad experience overall, and I don't want that to happen again.
- How do you think you would integrate with the current team?
Graphic Designer
I applied for a full-time Graphic Designer position. The interview was in a cramped office with boxes stacked high. The store owner offered different jobs than what I applied for, with lower pay and contingent on call hours, even though the position was full-time. There's overstaffing, lack of hours, and the store manager has to handle shipping packages too. The manager has a thick accent and is hard to understand, making communication difficult. It felt like a waste of time.
