The UPS store is privately owned, so getting the job depends on the owner's needs. It took me a month to get hired, and during that time, I had 3 interviews.

I had a really bad experience at this specific UPS Store, but it might not be like that everywhere. The manager was nice at first, and it was more casual than I thought. But, most of the interview, she was in and out of her office, on the phone buying stuff while I was there. She also talked bad about her employees to me and shared way too much about her personal life. In the hour and a half interview, she only asked four real questions. She didn't seem focused on interviewing me at all. While we were talking, I heard employees yelling at each other, and she just acted like it was normal. That made me uncomfortable, so I didn't say much. She mentioned that most people she hires quit or ghost after a week, and I could understand why. It was just a bad experience overall, and I don't want that to happen again.

So, each The UPS Store is actually its own franchise, not directly run by the big UPS company, so how they interview can differ from place to place. For me, it started with filling out an application online, you know, the usual personal info, work history, education, and uploading a resume. Then, the owner of the store called me to set up an in-person interview. I went to the store and met with the owner in her office. We went over my resume together and chatted about my past experiences and what I'm looking to do career-wise.
