So at Synechron, it's usually three rounds. First, there's a technical interview where they check your core skills. They'll ask stuff about Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, SQL, and some basic problem-solving. They also want to chat about your past projects and what you've actually done. Then, Round 2 is a more advanced technical interview. This is where they get into the nitty-gritty of system design, talk about real-time situations, and how to optimize performance. They'll also dig deeper into frameworks, architecture, and coding ideas, and might throw in some case studies or really tough problems. Finally, Round 3 is with a manager and HR. This is more about if you'd fit into the team, how good your communication and leadership skills are. They'll ask about your career plans, what you expect, when you can start, and your salary ideas. It's also about seeing if you're a cultural fit and if you align with the company's values.

Behavioral Technical

Recruiter called me for a basic screening interview and then set up the next round with the leader of Synechron. I did great in that round, the interviewer was genuine and authentic. I got selected and the recruiter set up another round with Senior HR for Thursday. It was scheduled for around 4 PM but she had a meeting. It got rescheduled for Friday at 6 PM but was cancelled again. I was told they'd reach out on Monday. But on and after Monday, the recruiter neither responded to calls nor emails, which is unprofessional. I tried calling her counterpart but no response. This is the second time I got ghosted by the same person, so beware. Otherwise, the company is excellent.

I was contacted by a staffing company for a Data Architect contract role at a big enterprise. The job description was vague but sounded like a specialized, high-stakes job, and they even gave me the client's name, which made it seem legit. They claimed to have an exclusive SOW for it and were using many smaller agencies to find candidates. Lots of these agencies posted ads on LinkedIn and job boards for this role for about a month and a half. Despite all the time spent, including weeks of back-and-forth and coordinating, no actual client interview ever happened. Plus, other agencies that regularly work with this client couldn't find this role either. This makes me think it was probably a fake job posting that got spread around, wasting everyone's time – candidates and smaller staffing firms who were unknowingly working on something that didn't exist. These agencies, just like the candidates, put in a lot of effort and resources for nothing, only to be misled by what turned out to be potentially false information. This market is tough, and it takes a lot of focused prep to get through the screening. Deceptions like this don't just steal valuable time that could be spent on real opportunities; they also destroy trust. Dishonest recruiting practices hurt everyone, from professionals looking for work to partner agencies acting in good faith. Candidates and recruiters deserve honesty and openness, not complicated schemes based on bad info. This was one of the most annoying experiences I've had job hunting. It's also made me wary, and now I have to spend extra time vetting both recruiters and job postings. I learned about 'Ghost jobs' and 'Resume Harvesting' from this. If you were also impacted by this posting, as a candidate or a recruiting partner, you can file a complaint with the FTC or your state's labor or consumer protection office. Filing complaints can help stop this kind of fraudulent recruiting in the future.

Technical Coding Technical

I had an HR Interview first, then I completed 2 tests: one Java test focusing on code output/errors and an easy algorithm problem. After that, I had a technical interview with Synechron. I then had a few more calls with Synechron and received an offer before interviewing with the client. Post-client interview, there was another Java test, followed by the interview with the client. The entire process spanned about 2 weeks. Subsequently, I waited a week for a response stating the client preferred someone with more experience. While the Synechron team was pleasant, the client was not.
