We had 4 rounds in total. First was a technical round with both theory and practical questions. Second was another technical round, purely practical. Third was a managerial round where they asked about my projects and some behavioral questions. Lastly, an HR round to discuss salary. The overall difficulty was on the easier side. They asked about configuration, jobs, stages, and spark-submit.

The whole interview process was a joke. It was a SIX stage interview process and a lot of time was wasted. Stage 1 was an initial zoom screening with questions about the Hadoop ecosystem. Stage 2 was a Java coding test on Codility. Stage 3 was a second Java coding test on Codility. Synechron told the recruiter that they wanted to select the best candidate, and out of 130 candidates, only 4 were selected. At this point, when they gave me the second test, I started to wonder if it was worth doing because if they wanted to see if I could solve harder problems, they could have given a harder test in stage 2 instead of wasting my time. Stage 4 was again a technical zoom call where they asked similar questions to the first stage. Stage 5 was again the same as stage 4, with over 40% of the questions being exactly the same as in stage 1 and stage 4. Stage 6 was with Synechron's client. That interview could have gone a bit better from my side, but I was pretty much tired and lost interest in working for them. Overall, I wasted more than 15 hours across those 6 stages in 5 weeks. They came back with an offer that was lower than what I asked for.

Technical Behavioral

The interview process was real fast as they seemed to have an urgent opening. There were around 3 technical rounds. After all the technical and HR interviews, I was told I was selected and they were waiting for business approval for the salary. However, after 2 weeks of conversation, the HR stopped providing updates. This same thing happened last year, where Synechron took my interview, asked for all my documents, told me I was selected, and that they would reach out once business approved. I had to spend 2 weeks hoping for the opportunity. It's bad to keep someone on hope for two weeks when the business didn't approve or if they are not selected. Thumbs down to Synechron's HR process.
