I applied for a Fund Onboarding role, and my experience in implementation was relevant. However, the first interview, instead of focusing on technical aspects or onboarding processes, was heavily loaded with detailed accounting questions. Examples included booking cash transactions and calculating a waterfall. It felt more like a deliberate attempt to find my weaknesses than a genuine evaluation of my experience or skills. Despite answering all questions and getting only one wrong, I was swiftly rejected after the single interview without receiving any feedback. The job has been reposted on LinkedIn for over three months now, making the entire process seem even more suspect. Generally, the experience felt misaligned and discouraging, not at all like a company that prioritizes thoughtful hiring.

I studied the product for hours but was continuously told that I didn’t know enough. Was told I’m really great on the phone during my cold call, yet I’m supposed to know the product like someone who has been working there for years? Then I was rejected the next day. All I got was text saying I’ve been rejected. (Unprofessional) I asked for feedback and they refused to give me any. I asked and was told “We had multiple applicants.” I asked again and was told, “The Manager chooses the most qualified candidate for the role.” Complete waste of time. They knew my experience up front, which is over 4 years and the job requires 1+. Awful experience

After the initial phone-screen, I had three more interviews, all on Teams. First up was the hiring manager for a technical interview. It covered basic computer science and database topics. We also went over my previous projects and experience, and briefly discussed the team and SS&C. It was a pleasant chat. For the second interview, I met with the hiring manager and his boss. It was similar to the first, but with an additional person. We dove deeper into my projects and talked about potential team placements. They spent a good amount of time selling the team and company culture. It felt very conversational and enjoyable. The final interview was with one of the VPs. This one was very conversational too, focused on getting to know me, my skills, and how I'd fit into the company. They also spoke highly of the company culture. It all felt like a great group of people and a really positive interview experience. I got a verbal offer a few days after the last interview. My only real gripe is that it took over a month to get the written offer finalized and back to me, although I was warned it would take a while.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Applied online, got internal references and recommendations. Went through three rounds of interviews: HR, Hiring Manager, and the Hiring Manager's Manager. After that, I was ghosted. I tried reaching out to the HR Talent Recruiter handling the role, but got no response. It was a total waste of 3 months. All the interviews went great, they basically said I was perfect and asked when I could start. I sent thank-you emails after each round. It was a complete waste of my time and totally unprofessional.
