Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SS&C.
Business Analyst
The whole interview thing was super fast, wrapped up in like a week. First, there was a screening call, then I chatted with the hiring manager, and after that, I had an interview with the leadership team. Someone on the call let me know unofficially that I got the job and they were getting my offer letter ready. I kept chasing the recruiter for three weeks, and they kept saying the offer was almost approved. Then, after those three weeks, they called to say they had to rethink the budget and requirements, so the whole selection was off. Seriously, I even planned and paid for childcare that I couldn't get back, plus the emotional toll of stopping my job search and getting ready to join, only to lose out and have to start over. Not a great experience, wouldn't recommend.
- Tell me about your interest in the BA role.
- Could you share some examples of improvements you've implemented?
- What drives your motivation for this particular job or role?
Business Analyst
Had an initial phone screen with a recruiter. This was followed by a short behavioral interview. The final interview was 2 hours long and I met with 4 senior team members, 30 minutes with each. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions.
- How would you leverage data and analysis to tackle a specific problem?
Business Analyst
Had 3 rounds of basic interviews. They started with a CV review and role fitment discussion. We talked about expectations, products I've handled, and my client and people handling skills. Also asked about issues I've faced with projects and teams in the past, along with situational questions.
- Can you tell me about your experiences with products, and describe your roles and goals?
- Share an issue you faced and how you managed it.
- What are your long-term goals?
