Customer Success Manager
Went through 8 rounds of interviews, had one of the ‘best’ technical tests they’ve seen according to them. After meeting with the team, HR, the team manager, and their manager through multiple intense rounds I made it to the CEO for a final interview and he apparently didn’t get a ‘good vibe’ from me and they declined me an offer. Seems a bit over processed for an entry level position and the idea that the CEO didn’t like my vibe was a bit off putting.
- Questions were more focused on technical aptitude than customer strategy or soft skills.
Product Manager
The interview process dragged on for over a month, and I even spoke with the CEO multiple times. While two recruiters from Sourcegraph were coordinating things, they eventually stopped responding to emails. It was a significant time commitment for everyone involved. It's strange they'd invest so much time and then not follow up. Honestly, it feels like a lucky escape given what others have said; they seem quite unprofessional and have ghosted other candidates.
- Can you tell me about a project you worked on previously?
Digital Marketing Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a recruiter screen, then a hiring manager screen. After that, I met with three separate team members, each for about 30 minutes. Then there was a values screen and a leadership screen, both 30 minutes long. Everything went well, and they were quick to schedule meetings with everyone. I was told I didn't get the job, not because of my interview, but because they hadn't gotten far enough in the process with other candidates. My advice would be to ask the recruiter if anyone else has completed the process or is currently in the pipeline. Otherwise, it feels like a complete waste of time and suggests they're holding out for a perfect fit. The people I met were great, but their hiring priorities didn't seem to match how they communicated them to candidates.
- How do you approach planning your project for the upcoming fiscal year?
- Can you share an instance where a project under your responsibility was not properly planned, and what steps did you take to fix it?
- Describe a situation where you championed or supported someone else.
Enterprise Account Executive
The application process for the Enterprise Account Executive role at Sourcegraph was excellent from beginning to end. I interacted with about 10 individuals throughout the process, and each interaction was positive. My recruiter, Marija, was exceptionally organized, informed, and professional, providing ongoing support and feedback. The interview stages included a resume review, a technical discussion or cross-team collaboration session with two CEs, a values-based interview with two team members, and a sales presentation to the VP of Sales, my hiring manager, and another AE. The interviews were fair and accurately assessed the skills needed for the role. All interviews were punctual and engaging, and I appreciated the genuine interest shown in me as a person, not just a candidate. The high caliber of intelligent and experienced professionals at Sourcegraph was very impressive.
- Can you provide a detailed review of a past successful deal?
- How would you generate pipeline in this AE role?
- Which target companies would you focus on and what is your rationale?
