As a recruiter, I'm pretty judgmental about the interview processes companies put me through because it tells me how my potential colleagues think and how the company handles recruitment. Sourcegraph did an amazing job evaluating my skills and ensuring I had a good experience. It was tough because you can't fake answers, you need to talk about your real experiences thoughtfully. But, they had a structured process and the people on the other end were great, making it easy to be myself and speak from the heart, and it turned out to be a good fit. I had a couple of 1:1 chats with stakeholders to talk about what collaboration would be like, and a values/behavioral chat with a small group. I also had a take-home assignment that took some time but was enjoyable.

The interview process here is generally quite long, and they're not great about giving feedback, even if you put in a lot of effort. You just get generic rejections. They do ask pretty standard, structured questions and record the interviews if you agree. I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. The process involved a screening call, a detailed review of my CV, a peer-to-peer interview, and then an assignment. During one group interview, two out of the three interviewers didn't show up, so I ended up being interviewed by the same person from a previous round, which was unprofessional with no apology or explanation. Then there was a long assignment. After I submitted it, I got a typical rejection email with no feedback. You'd think they'd offer more, especially after all the time invested. My impression is that the company is unprofessional, and I'd advise others to save their time.

Got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter about a role I was overqualified for, but I engaged. Had a recruiter call that went well, and then moved to an assignment. After that, I was ghosted on and off. Later, I got an email to meet with the hiring manager, confirmed it, and then got rejected three days before that scheduled meeting. The company has great benefits, but they shouldn't keep candidates hanging, especially scheduling interviews after the role is filled.
