Manager
The interview process took way longer than they first said and took up a lot of my time, with a bunch of different interviews over many weeks. Some chats were tougher than others, as expected, but all in all, the conversations were insightful and really gave me a feel for the team and the job. But, after the last part, they just stopped talking to me. I reached out a few times, but never heard back or got any info on what happened. It was a bummer to get ghosted after putting in so much effort.
- What's motivating your job search away from your current role?
Human Resources Business Partner
The initial interview process was confusing and cumbersome. Multiple people from recruiting reached out with different questions and interview times, often with conflicting messages. When I was contacted for the initial interview, I was asked to provide days/times that would work. Nearly a week went by without a response and then I was contacted late in the afternoon to report to their office the very next morning. I was thankful my availability hadn't changed in the week it took for them to respond.
- Can you share an example of a time you addressed a difficult employee situation?
- Describe an instance where you successfully influenced others without having direct authority.
- How do you manage and protect sensitive or confidential information?
Analyst
If your phone or video interview went well, you might get called in for an in-person interview. This part usually has: Behavioral and situational questions to see how you've handled stuff before and how you might in the future. Technical or skills tests, which could be tasks, problem-solving, or case studies for the job. You'll probably meet a few people like the hiring manager, team leads, or even your potential coworkers to see if you'd be a good fit for the team and company culture.
- Why are you interested in our company?
Summer Vacation Scheme
It was a pretty straightforward interview that lasted about an hour and I met with a Partner. It was split into two sections: the first was all about competencies, and the second was commercial awareness. For the competency part, they asked standard questions like 'tell me about a time you failed' and 'tell me about a time you worked in a team and overcame an obstacle.' The commercial awareness part involved discussing a Financial Times article with the Partner.
