Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sidley Austin.
Legal Secretary
The interview process felt like it took ages. There were several interviews done over video, then a test on an old version of Microsoft Office, and then finally an in-person interview. It really dragged on.
- How many attorneys do you currently work with?
- General interview questions
Legal Secretary
The interview process was pretty quick and efficient, took about 3 steps. It started with a recruiter call for screening. Then, there was a Zoom interview with the Secretarial Management Team. The final step involved meeting with the attorneys, if that was relevant.
- Could you share a bit about your background?
Legal Administrative Assistant
The interview process was perfunctory, involving testing and questioning, and felt very impersonal and lengthy. The main person I was supposed to meet didn't show up and instead sent someone to tell me to leave. It was incredibly unprofessional, with no follow-up, apology, or explanation.
- I was subjected to perfunctory testing and questioning and met with three HR people. I waited a long time for a fourth person who never showed up, but instead sent one of the people I was awkwardly waiting with to tell me to go.
- How was your experience?
