First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ritz-Carlton.
Director of HR
I reached out to the GM and market HR Director before applying. The Marriott recruiter asked about my visa status and the specific type I held. She also mentioned the position requires a bachelor's degree, which seemed contradictory since I know people in their EC committee without one.
- The recruiter pointed out that I do not have a Bachelor's Degree and asked me why.
- I asked for confirmation if it was truly needed considering most hotel companies, including Marriott will consider extensive experience vs strong educational background.
Cook
It was a 3 step process, first the cooking trial, then interview with department head, then interview with executive Chef and finally HR. interview was kind of interesting once you pass first interview then you need to wait for a email, then if you do get call for 2nd interview then you get to go through more technical part questions.
- Can you tell me about The Ritz-Carlton?
- What makes you want to work here?
- What is The Ritz-Carlton credo?

Intern
The interview process for the internship at Mandapa was pretty good. I went through a few interviews, and everyone was super nice and professional. They looked at my skills and how I'd fit in with the team, which was cool. It was like a regular internship interview, and it felt really welcoming and supportive.
- Could you tell me about your past experiences?
- Can you share an example of a challenging situation you've handled?
- What are your motivations for pursuing an interest in hospitality?
