Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ritz-Carlton.
Sales Manager
The process involved several interviews with different people, after which the company stopped communicating with the applicant. They seem to be looking for ideal candidates and had trouble making a decision. My advice is not to spend too much time on this company.
- What value do you offer us, and what makes you the right choice for this role?
- Why should we select you for this position?
Sales Manager
First, you'll do an online assessment on the hotel's site since Marriott/Ritz-Carlton uses an outside company for the initial stages. If you pass that, they'll look at your resume, and if it looks good, they'll call you for a screening interview. After that phone chat, your info goes to the specific hotel for an in-person interview. You'll usually meet with two people who will ask you specific questions. You'll have one or two of these interviews. If you make it to the final round, they'll set up a casual meeting with the general manager.
- Describe a situation where you had to close a deal that appeared impossible.
- Can you share an instance of handling a client issue?
- Tell me about your experience managing a large team.
Senior Sales Manager
Had a screening phone call with talent acquisition where they asked a lot of behavioral questions, like 'Tell me about a time when'... Then, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They had a form from HR with about 4-5 questions about scenarios and experience. Questions included things like 'Tell me about a time when you handled a tense negotiation' and 'Tell me about your greatest sales accomplishment'.
- What makes you want to join the Ritz Carlton team?
