The interview process was really clear and easy to follow. The people team did a great job organizing everything and letting me know what to expect. They sent over some presentations about the company and what the job involves. They tried to bunch up the interviews, but it took place over a couple of days. All the interviews were just chatting about my experience and different scenarios. It took about 2 weeks from start to finish, even with a holiday in between. I never felt like it was too much or unnecessary. I spoke with people from different parts of the company.

The interview process at Ribbon is pretty simple. Grace, the recruiter, was great and laid out the whole thing clearly, so there were no surprises. It took 3 rounds: first, a technical screen with the hiring manager, then a pair programming session, and finally a system design and behavioral screen. They put a lot of thought into making the interviews relevant and not overly difficult. The questions were tied to my background, not random. All the interviewers were nice, smart, and understanding, really showing off the Ribbon culture. They cared more about how I approach problems than just knowing code. The pair programming was awesome, probably the best coding interview I've ever had! Accepting the offer was an easy choice after such a good experience.

I got an email from a recruiter to talk about the job, my background, and what I'd expect for pay. It was good they told me the salary early on. Then, I spoke with the hiring manager about my experience and some python stuff. After that, I went onsite for two interviews: one with the analytics manager for an hour, and another hour of live coding with senior engineers. Finally, I had a call with an Engineering Manager about how I'd handle situations and if I'd fit the company culture. The whole thing took about 3 weeks from start to getting the offer. Even though it took a while, the recruiter kept me updated and was honest about why things were taking longer.

The interview journey with Ribbon was quite a lengthy, drawn-out, and demanding one. I initially applied for a management position, given my five years of experience in such roles. The company had already extended an offer for that role, but my recruiter inquired about my interest in an entry-level position. Because I resonated with the company's mission and values, I decided to go for it. In the end, I ended up wasting five weeks and a significant amount of time on an interview process led by a management team that was surprisingly inexperienced and lacked diversity. The interview questions were pretty standard. The managers kept showing up late for our scheduled calls, which was inconvenient as I'm still working and have my own team to manage. Honestly, I was not impressed at all.
