Engineering Manager
The interview was pretty clear from the start, and they were really upfront about the pay. It had three parts: a screen with a Sr. Engineering Manager, then a System Design interview, and finally a discussion about leadership. Everyone on the panel was cool and answered my questions well.
- Could you refactor this small piece of code?
- Design a database schema for a social media application.
- Do you have thoughts on diversity and inclusion?
Engineering Manager
First, a phone screen with a recruiter. Then, a technical screen with the manager. After that, we had a Management Philosophy interview, a System Design Interview, and another Management Philosophy interview. The last two heavily focused on how you hire and help grow engineers, with a particular emphasis on DEI.
- Can you describe your hiring approach?
- What is your philosophy on management?
- How do you go about hiring and developing engineers, especially concerning DEI?
Engineering Manager
Recruiter reached out on a hiring platform, and the whole process took about two weeks. I really liked the interviews, they focused a lot on hiring with diversity and inclusion at Ribbon, which aligns with my values. The process felt empathetic and respectful, and I got good feedback after each stage about what to expect next. I got the offer quickly over the phone, and they explained it well.
- Technical round with the Hiring Manager
- A few technical interviews including standard algo/DS and System design questions
- The last interview was focused on leadership skills for product delivery
