So the interview process kicked off with a quick chat with the recruiter to go over my background and if I was a good fit. Then I had interviews with the hiring manager and some team folks where we talked about my past work, my skills for this job, and how I handle problems. I also had to do a skills/technical test thing for the role. The last interview was about seeing if I'd fit with the team, what they expect, and how I could grow there. Overall it felt pretty organized and they kept me in the loop.

The Reliance interview process is a multi-stage funnel designed to assess both technical depth and cultural fit. It typically begins with an Aptitude/Written Test to screen for basic quantitative and logical skills. Following this, one or more Technical Interview rounds delve into the candidate's core domain knowledge, past projects, and problem-solving abilities (e.g., coding or engineering concepts). The final stage is usually an HR Interview, where the focus shifts to motivation, career aspirations, and suitability for Reliance's dynamic, innovative environment, often including a discussion of the candidate's awareness of the company's new ventures like GlowGlass. This structured approach ensures they hire well-rounded and committed individuals.

The interview was pretty good and mostly about core electrical stuff. They really dug into protection systems, like the zones of protection, different relay types, and where they're used. Also talked about switchgear principles, how they operate, and coordination. The interviewer kept bringing up things on my resume, especially my project and maintenance experience. It wasn't just theory; they wanted to see if I understood practical fault scenarios and why certain protection logic is used. So, it was technical overall, but they also asked a few HR questions about how I work and handle field situations.

It was a campus placement with 3 rounds. First was an online test, then a technical interview, and finally an HR interview. The technical round involved an introduction, questions on petroleum process basics, and heat transfer concepts like condensers vs. evaporators and heat curves. The HR round covered Crude Assay basics and resume-based questions.
