First they shortlist resumes, then there was a written test. The test had two parts: aptitude and technical, with equal weightage. Aptitude was easy, like for MBA exams. The technical part was mostly objective questions with multiple choices, directly related to industry like pumps, distillation trays, and reactor types, not theoretical or course-related stuff. The interview was also easy, asking about things on my resume like internships, B.Tech project, and favorite courses. They seemed tougher on people with lower test scores and easier on those with good scores. My interview was about 10 min long because I did well on the technical part. The last part was like HR, asking about why chemical engineering, future plans, why this company, family, and past history.

There was a technical written test. If you pass it with good marks, the HR round is just a formality. In the technical test, they ask 60 objective type questions, with a total time limit of 90 minutes. Questions are mainly about process valves, unit operations, and control systems, like the difference between PD, PI, and PID controllers. Then there were questions about chemical process calculations, dew point, partial pressure, and boiling point. Questions related to distillation columns, vaporizers, and heat exchangers were also asked. In short, it's about subjects directly applicable in the chemical process industry.
