First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at QuinStreet.
Data Analyst
I had a phonescreen with the recruiter, and then an interview with the Director of Client Analytics, and then with the SVP of Algo. The questions were interesting enough, although some networking to some other QS people afterwards revealed that the actual work has next to nothing to do with the interview questions. Go figure. I also heard from the recruiter that he would be finishing up the hiring process and would have an update within the week. That was a month and a half ago; I haven't heard from him since.

Web Designer
I went for this web designer job. It had 5 interviews plus a design challenge and was all done in 10 days. So, I talked to the recruiter, the design manager, 2 designers, 2 people from product marketing, and the VP of engineering. Then, I got this big design challenge on Friday afternoon and had to turn it in by Tuesday morning. After I sent it in, I waited a week for the recruiter to call me back. They just told me I didn't get the job, and sadly, didn't give me any feedback on my challenge or interviews.

Product Manager
I applied for the APM role at Quinstreet. They advertised it as a third-class position at a third-class company with a terrible team and low pay, asking for a $70,000 salary which is honestly a joke for 5-6 rounds. The first round was fine. But starting from the second round, it became clear they were looking for a financial analyst skilled in A/B testing and SQL, not a product manager. There was no focus on team leadership, backlog grooming, feature prioritization, scrum, development, or MarTech; it was all about finance. They should have hired a financial analyst or data scientist instead of an APM. In the third round, the senior data analyst was clearly rushed, barely showing his face on camera, talking to others, and dressed casually. He presented three Excel slides showing A/B test results and asked me to identify the better outcome. I answered all his technical and non-technical questions and offered my perspective. A week later, they ghosted me before sending a rejection notice. Despite my request for feedback, none was provided. In this volatile job market of 2024 with layoffs and uncertainty, ghosting candidates is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company's team and management.

UI Engineer
HR called me about the interview process and job details. There were 4 rounds in total. The first round was about the job description and a quick 10-minute chat with one-word answers. Round 2 was a telephonic technical interview which was easy, mostly basic JavaScript questions, and lasted an hour. Round 3 was on Microsoft Meet, also for technical skills. It was tough, but I passed. After Round 3, HR said it was the last round from their side, and we talked about salary and terms. The next day, HR called again for one more interview, Round 4. This was also technical, and the questions were easier than Round 3. However, I got an email saying I wasn't selected because my last round performance wasn't positive.
- Questions on javascript, HTML, and CSS were asked.
