& Process

I had a phone screening where they asked behavioral questions, about why I was interested in PP, my reproductive health experience, and reproductive health procedures. They also asked if I had any questions for them and about my experiences working with diverse populations. After that, I was scheduled for an in-person interview.

First, there was a phone screen, then a virtual interview with the hiring manager. After that, a panel interview happened, but they ended up changing who would be on the panel. They also asked me to do a writing test. I decided to share two slide decks I made that showed example communication strategies. They didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my email asking about the decision for the role. The rejection I got was impersonal and probably AI-written, with no feedback at all.

I had one interview with my direct supervisor and the Director of Business Analytics. It was about 45 minutes long and mostly behavioral. They asked standard questions about teamwork, project management, and cross-departmental communication, plus a few about my technical background. It was pretty straightforward, felt conversational and friendly. The only questions that made me pause a bit were the situational ones. For instance, they asked how I'd deal with a colleague using the wrong pronouns for someone, and about my commitment to the organization's mission. These questions made sense given the company's focus on gender-affirming care and inclusivity. I thought they were good questions, but I did need a moment to think them through.

There were 2 virtual interviews, one where I had to record myself answering questions and another on Zoom. Both took around 45 minutes and had over 10 questions. The third interview was in person at the clinic and had about 6 questions. The whole thing took about a month and a half. After the final interview, I got no follow-up, which I thought was really rude and unprofessional given how much effort I put in. I later found out from a job listing elsewhere that Spanish speaking was a requirement. The recruiter knew I wasn't bilingual but still went ahead with the interviews. I feel Planned Parenthood really wasted my time and energy. It was a terrible experience.
