The HR system sent constant reminders prior to the TEAMS meeting and the HR resource joined the meeting on time. They were very transparent about salary range and travel amount. The recruiter did not turn her camera on during the video interview through TEAMS, which was disrespectful and not professional. It seemed like it was her 352nd interview of the day, as she showed zero interest in answering my questions and offered very little details about the role, challenges, timing, total compensation, benefits, company culture, etc. She was also clueless about the engineering department structure. Although the position looks fantastic, HR people like the one I had the pleasure to interview with, eliminated the possibility of me considering this role and employer. Organizations usually ignore how crucial these overall candidates screening process could be and impactful it is for the business.

Behavioral Technical

I had two virtual interviews for the HVAC Technician role at Owens Corning. Both interviewers kept their cameras off, which felt weird since I was expected to be on camera. One of them was going to be my direct manager. The job description wasn't very clear and didn't match what we talked about in the interviews. I prepped a lot, but I never heard back about the results or got any feedback. I only found out I didn't get the job when I checked their portal. It felt unprofessional and like there was no transparency. It's a bummer when they expect you to be fully engaged, but don't show the same respect. Communication should be a two-way street in hiring. I'd say think twice about this company's values before applying.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process kicked off with an HR screening, which I felt went well, and surprisingly had tougher questions than the hiring manager did. After three weeks, I interviewed with the director (the hiring manager). It seemed like he was seeing my CV for the first time, and he didn't ask many questions. The interview was scheduled for 40 minutes but only lasted 30. I ended up walking him through my CV from past to present. He asked about how I manage a specific commodity and my reasons for wanting to work with it. The next step was an onsite interview.
