Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Owens Corning.
Project Engineer
Had a couple of phone interviews, each lasting 30 mins to an hour. We talked about my past experience, future goals, and then got a detailed overview of the position. The first interview was with HR, and the second one was with my potential boss.
- Can you tell me about your project management experience?
Engineer
Owens Corning gave off a really good vibe during the interview process. It was a bit long mainly because of the holidays. My first two interviews were over the phone, which was super convenient, and the third one was on campus with several panel interviews. Sadly, I didn't get the job. I would have loved to take an offer, but their reasons made sense. It wasn't a total loss, though. The hiring manager called me a week after the interview to explain exactly why I didn't get the offer and even gave me advice on other jobs at the company to apply for. I've never received that kind of feedback before. Super professional. I'll keep applying to OC hoping for a good offer.
- In this situation, how would you demonstrate the correct heat transfer?
Engineering Lead
I had an initial phone screening, and then went through 3 rounds of in-person interviews all on the same day. All the interviews involved typical STAR-based questions. None of the questions seemed particularly tough, and there were some repeated questions across different interview panels.
- Can you share an instance where you had to make a tough decision and what the result was?
