First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Owens Corning.
Manufacturing Co-op
I had a panel interview with 2 engineers at the plant. We all got to introduce ourselves. They asked typical behavioral questions. I suggest studying the STAR Method because they expect you to answer in that format.
- Describe a situation where your team made an error and how you motivated them to recover.
Production Supervisor
The process took about a month and felt quite detailed, like I was always a step behind. It started with a screening interview where we talked basics and reviewed my resume. Then, a second phone interview with the plant leader, which was similar but a bit more in-depth. The third interview was in-person and involved some role-playing, where they tried to connect my experience to the job. After that, a fourth interview with more leadership, again featuring role-playing and resume discussion. Finally, a fifth interview with the HR leader included more basic questions.
- Imagine a scenario with a damaged belt; how would you mediate between the mechanic and electrician to get it repaired?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a conflict between employees.
Production
I was interviewed by a panel of four people, including management like the process engineer, coordinator, and plant supervisor, plus a production associate. They asked me a bunch of typical questions about my past jobs and what I like to do outside of work. The management team was really nice and professional during the interview.
- Could you share how you discovered our company?
- What is your previous work experience?
- What are your interests outside of work?
