It was mostly a chat about my background, plus some brain teasers. They also wanted to know about my career goals and my grasp of ESG topics. The interview felt like a natural conversation.

The first round was a phone interview where a Dev from the team would call you and ask you questions. It wasn't too serious, mostly HR questions and then one or two basic technical questions. The final interview was a 2-hour session. It was made up of 1 hour for HR questions and the other 1 hour for a technical interview. I got feedback in 2 days that I wasn't selected.

The hiring process involves four stages total. Initially, candidates submit an essay about a contrarian idea. Shortlisted candidates then interview with an investment team member to assess fit and problem-solving abilities. The next step involves writing a detailed stock recommendation report (around 3000 words) for a company. The quality of this report determines if the candidate proceeds to a final discussion with three investment team members. This process is high-standard, featuring a notable final discussion where a candidate's thinking depth, scope, and judgment are probed by experienced analysts over an hour. The support team treats all candidates with respect and consideration, reflecting the firm's commitment to excellence.

First, there was an initial telephone interview. It was scheduled for 45 mins but actually went for 75 mins. They did a technical discussion and asked questions. After that, I was called for an on-site interview. 4 people were there for this interview, scheduled for 3 hours but it went on for more than 4 hours. We had a detailed technical discussion. Then, I was called again for an on-site interview for a full day. They gave me a development exercise which I had to complete and then discuss it with 2 people. It was again technical. Finally, I was called for another on-site interview with 3 senior management people. This was technical as well as HR-like.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Last interview was very disappointing as the manager was not convinced with my answers.
  • They did not see how I performed in rest of the interviews and rejected me.
  • What a shame.
