First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Optiv.
Sales Representative
The process was pretty slow and they didn't communicate updates well, which was annoying. They took a while to let me know what was next, leaving me hanging when I didn't need to be. It was a frustrating time. The interview itself was a basic call, then another call with the hiring manager, and then I had to do a presentation.
- Can you discuss your background in sales?
Cloud Engineer
I went through 3 rounds of interviews for the role. They seemed really impressed with my knowledge, which I think helped me move through the rounds. In the final phase, I interviewed with team members for a senior position. One interviewer kept asking 'trick' certification questions, which I found puzzling as to how they related to the job. All the role-related function questions I was asked were answered correctly, as confirmed by another team member. I received a generic rejection email after the 3 rounds.
- What does fstab do on a Linux server?
Learning Associate
Had a recruiter screen that was easy to set up, lasted 30 minutes. We talked about my background, why I'm interested, and team/company culture. Then, a 90-minute interview with the hiring manager where we discussed things further, and I did a 15-20 minute mock facilitation to demonstrate my skills. After that, I interviewed with two future colleagues for 30 minutes. Finally, there was a short 30-minute interview with the CHRO.
- Can you share your experience with Learning Management Systems (LMSs)?
- Regarding your long-term career aspirations, how will this position help you achieve them?
Security Analyst
The whole process spanned two months and had 5 interview rounds. Sometimes an interview slot would be cancelled and rescheduled for the next week, especially if your notice period was long. HR wasn't upfront with the offer initially and was quite rude, basically saying it was final. They'd keep you engaged throughout the process and only present the offer near the end of your notice period. I found out they screen many candidates and keep them waiting for various reasons, as three people from my team also interviewed with them. My strong advice is to only join if you have no other options, even if they offer you more money.
