So this was probably the worst interview I've ever had. It started with a recruiter call and then a basic tech interview with a manager. After that, they gave me a web application to do a pentest assessment on. The app was so badly configured that my usual tools didn't work. I told them about the issues and how to fix them, but they didn't know how. Even with the broken app, I managed to find several OWASP vulnerabilities and wrote a detailed report. I submitted it and was told I'd hear back quickly, but it took over two weeks and multiple follow-ups to get an automated rejection. The person who reviewed my report apparently usually discusses it with candidates, but that never happened. So I wasted over 20 hours on a broken app and report, and didn't even get feedback. The whole thing was really poorly handled and a total waste of my time.

Technical Presentation

Went through 3 rounds starting with a recruiter call, then a technical interview. The final round involved presenting a pre-existing penetration test report to a Director and another Security Consultant. I got to the final stage but the objectives for the pen test presentation weren't clear beforehand. Didn't really like the leadership, and my presentation bombed. They offered me another chance to present a different report I'd written, but I turned it down. Didn't feel like the right place.

It was an amazing experience. There were three technical rounds, one of which involved a CTF challenge. Additionally, there was one HR round. Make sure you are solid on the technical details listed in your CV. Be clear and confident in your answers. If you don't know something, don't be afraid to admit it, but still make an effort to work through it and discuss it to reach a conclusion.
