So the interview process was pretty structured and they told me what to expect. It had these rounds: 1. A recruiter chat (about 15-30 mins). 2. A technical chat with the Hiring Manager. Then 3. Tech Round 1, 4. Tech Round 2, and 5. Tech Round 3. Lastly, 6. A chat with the Director. Super disappointing though, after all that time and effort, to get zero feedback, not even a yes or no. I tried asking the recruiter but no reply. Seriously, companies should just give a decision or at least update us on what's going on or why it's taking so long.

Throughout the hiring process, your performance was consistently good and your attitude very professional in all stages. You showed good preparation, clear answers, and the ability to describe your experiences objectively. Communication was a strong point, especially in the interview, where you conveyed confidence and connected your experiences to the required competencies. Regarding the dynamics and tests, your performance was adequate, showing organized thinking and understanding of the tasks. However, some parts could have been explored more deeply, especially in detailing specific achievements and measurable results, which would help highlight your potential even more.

Behavioral Technical System Design

The interview process started with a recruiter screen, which was just a quick fact check. Next, there was a hiring manager interview that was heavy on system design questions. I'm not sure if most SDETs would have the experience for that. It felt like a step designed so that no one would pass. I'm even questioning if the position is real because it's been reposted for over two years, and they still haven't filled it, which is weird in this market. Since everyone else on the team is in India and this is supposed to be the first US hire they've struggled with for years, I'm assuming it's not a real job.

Behavioral Technical Case

I was contacted by a recruiter via text about a Sr. CSM role at Netskope, though they misspelled the company name initially. The role was initially presented as a Sr. CSM position but then switched to a standard CSM role, which was based in Canada. After that, I interviewed again for the Sr. CSM role. The position was filled internally after 7 rounds of interviews, where my age was also inquired about. I was then informed about a new standard CSM role that would be opening up, but without a definite timeline. We discussed compensation and benefits, and I received a verbal offer on August 4th, confirmed by a congratulatory email from the hiring manager accepting the position. After a total of 3 months and 7 interviews, plus a follow-up assignment, I received an ambiguous rejection, and I had to ask for clarification on my candidacy status. Given this experience, I'm uncertain if I would accept the position if it were offered.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • My age was asked.
  • How would you manage existing CSMs with 10 years of experience if you, with less experience, were selected for the role?
  • Can you explain your interest in a CSM role given your lack of direct CSM title experience, despite having sales engineering and account management background?
