The interview process was really quick and ran smoothly. I had three interviews in one week: first a phone screen, then a chat with the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview. Everything was good until the panel interview where there were two QA engineers. About 85% of the interview was questions from one of them, which were pretty standard and I felt I answered them well. But the other interviewer asked just one question that I thought was trivial and not really a good skill assessment. He asked about the internal workings of the .click() function in UI automation. I said it's a standard library method with not much custom technical complexity. The other panelist agreed, but he kept saying I was wrong. It was a bit weird because his point didn't align with standard knowledge of the tool. So, that part didn't feel very productive or like a good skill check. Even though the process was efficient and organized overall, that specific part of the panel interview felt a bit off for the level of technical evaluation I expected for the role.

I was contacted by Milliman about a job opening. The interview was supposed to be 30 minutes but ran longer. I sent more questions after, but didn't hear back quickly. A week later, they got back to me, but didn't answer my questions. Instead, I got a rejection and some feedback I didn't ask for. I respect their decision, but the experience could have been better with better time management, faster replies, and making sure my questions were actually answered. Giving me the info I asked for would have made things more clear, and feedback would be more useful if I'd asked for it. This interview felt like a DEI checkbox exercise.

After submitting my resume, I had a 1-way interview where they asked easy behavioral questions that I could record and submit. Then there was an optional meet and greet, followed by a 3-hour interview with 3 parts. In each part, I met with 2 employees who asked me questions about my resume, behavioral questions, and questions about high school. Finally, there was a background check.

The interview process had some communication issues. I had an initial interview with a younger person that went okay, though they seemed a bit unorganized since I was reading SQL queries from my personal laptop. After that, I spoke with an older gentleman who didn't seem very interested or engaged. I thought the interview went alright because we talked about what might happen next, but I never heard back even after following up several times. Honestly, even a rejection email would have been better than just being left in the dark.
