Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Milliman.
Senior Consultant
The interview process felt a bit ridiculous because I had to meet with six people and give the same background spiel, and they asked the same questions. I wasn't that impressed. They mentioned being below market rate during the interview, but the hours didn't seem to align, which made the salary offer not surprising.
- Can you describe a situation where you found it difficult to manage your priorities?
Consultant
I started with a few phone calls with the hiring manager. Then I had a whole day of interviews. Each interview was 30 minutes long. I met with lots of different people like admin staff, actuarial students, other coworkers, managers, principals, and senior principals. Some were one-on-one, and some were in panels.
- In what ways do you anticipate a career in consulting differing from previous industry roles?
Consultant
It was a quick, friendly, single interview. They didn't ask many questions, focusing generally on skills and trusting academic background. They mentioned potential work abroad and will detail the internship topic later. The interviewers were very competent.
