Media Planning Coordinator
They mentioned they wanted to hire quickly, but the entire process spanned over a month. It started with a phone screening, then moved to three Zoom interview rounds, and concluded with an in-person session featuring four back-to-back 30-minute interviews. They were meant to provide a dataset for this final round, but only sent it right before the meeting. Despite acknowledging their oversight, it created a difficult situation as the interview performance was contingent on this data.
- Can you tell me which fictional character you most identify with and explain your reasoning?
Strategy Analytics Intern
The interview process included two interviews, which were well conducted. There weren't any unexpected questions. It wasn't an overly long interview process, but the entire timeline stretched over a few months. The questions were common and it felt more like a conversation than a formal interview.
- What motivates your interest in working in baseball?
Senior Software Engineer
There were a few interview stages: first, an initial coding test. Then, more detailed coding, system design, and culture fit chats. After that, a final culture fit interview with the VP. The recruiter then contacted me, indicating they wanted to proceed with an offer. We talked about salary, benefits, and a potential start date, and I was told a written offer would follow. The following week, the recruiter called again, explaining that due to a lack of approvals, they had to schedule two more interviews instead of sending the offer. These were with a Senior HR manager and the SVP. Although I thought the interviews went well, the recruiter later informed me that they had re-evaluated the role, decided to go in a different direction, and would not be extending the previously discussed offer.
- Could you build a functional Tic-Tac-Toe game?
- How would you architect a traffic light system for a city?
- Develop a chat message parser for marketing data extraction.
Broadcast Associate
This was honestly one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had, I felt so belittled. The Zoom call started awkwardly with one interviewer looking unprofessional. They barely asked about my background. The schedule seemed insane – all nights and weekends, potentially for 10 years, which would ruin my social life and make time off tough. The pay was $46,000 with no benefits. They asked me to name 5 baseball players not on the Yankees, which felt out of left field given the job description. I couldn't answer. The whole thing felt uncomfortable and like a male-dominated environment where I might be judged differently as a woman. They said they'd respond in 1-2 weeks, maybe a month. It's now July 16th, way past my April 26th interview, and I still haven't heard back. It was so upsetting I cried.
- How knowledgeable are you about baseball and hockey?
- Is it acceptable for you to work nights and weekends with restricted time off?
- What motivates your desire to transition from marketing to broadcasting?
