I interviewed at LO in Dec 2025. The whole thing took four weeks over the Christmas break. The recruiter and interviewers were all thoughtful during the process, which made me feel considered. They didn't ask too many domain-specific questions related to my ML background, but there was a paper discussion and a statistics-focused round. After all the interviews, the recruiter contacted me the next day, as I had offers and needed to make a decision. The HR team was very responsive, which was definitely a plus.

First, there was a recruiter screening. Then, a hiring manager screen. After that, I had an assignment where I had to make a 6-slide presentation. Two slides were about me and why I'm a good fit and how I stand out. The other four slides were about a business problem I encountered, how I solved it, and how I drove revenue. Finally, I had a trio of interviews with the Director, VP of Demand, and the hiring manager.

It was a long interview process, about a month from start to finish. There were 5 interviews plus a take home assignment. First, a recruiter call, which was surprisingly thorough, like a real interview, the recruiter knew their stuff. Then, a take home test that took about 2 hours, involving analyzing data and answering questions about it. After that, I spoke with the hiring manager. Then, three 1-on-1 chats with different team members. It involved a lot of case studies. The recruiter was really great, super helpful and responsive, even reaching out after I wasn't selected. It would have been nice to get some specific feedback though, since I was only getting positive feedback all along, even from the final recruiter call.

The hiring process started with a 1-hour technical screening using Coderpad. After clearing that, there were final rounds consisting of two 60-minute whiteboarding sessions and a 4-hour peer programming coding challenge. I cleared the technical assessment but was rejected after the whiteboarding sessions and did not proceed to the coding challenge. The recruitment team was great and cooperative, and the interviewers were knowledgeable. However, the expectations for the interview process weren't clear. For the whiteboarding sessions, I wrote code in an IDE of my choice and shared my screen, even providing working code with multiple test cases, yet I was rejected. It was unclear if the focus was on algorithms, solutions, or handling abstract problems. It also felt strange that for a senior engineer role, all interviews were coding-focused with no system design, architecture, or algorithm-specific assessments.
