First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Liftoff.
Senior Account Manager
First, there was a recruiter screening. Then, a hiring manager screen. After that, I had an assignment where I had to make a 6-slide presentation. Two slides were about me and why I'm a good fit and how I stand out. The other four slides were about a business problem I encountered, how I solved it, and how I drove revenue. Finally, I had a trio of interviews with the Director, VP of Demand, and the hiring manager.
- Tell me about a time you led a project that resulted in increased revenue.
- Can you explain a situation where you spearheaded an initiative that boosted revenue?
- Describe an instance where you managed a project that drove revenue.
Account Manager
The interview process seemed well structured, thorough, and professional. I met 5 members of the team during the process which consisted of 5 interviews: a phone screen with the recruiter, a video call with the team lead, a prep call with the recruiter again, a presentation to the team, a presentation to the team lead. Also, there were home exercises: first, an easy one about creatives choice and writing an email to a client, and the second one was a presentation about myself and a case study. Presentation to the team wasn't easy, because I couldn't build a rapport, and I didn't get any emotions from the people, who it felt like didn't want to be there, maybe because of a lunchtime. I also was out of practice with presenting, because of maternity leave for 2 years. I definitely will improve my presenting skills. I was expecting more difficult technical questions about user acquisition, user identity and privacy challenges in the industry, metrics, and attribution in mobile app marketing. Instead, I got questions that didn't require deep answers.
- Regarding the case study, what was the main takeaway?
- What factors do you believe led to your success in your previous role?
- Could you describe the key characteristics and abilities needed for an account manager?
Account Manager
You should RUN AWAY FAST. Interview process was fine, but they declined to move me forward when speaking with the Manager of the AM team, because he asked where i see myself in 2-4 years and I told him that I wanted to be at the director level in 2-4 years, He basically said thats not a possibility. How would you as a manager, and a company, EVER expect to bring on top talent when you tell them there is no upward mobility?
- No stand out questions were asked.
