Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Liftoff.
Operations Manager
I spoke with the hiring manager who manages operations for another region. They asked about my thought process and daily management. They seem to want a very specific type of candidate who fits their exact work style, and anything slightly off won't make it. Honestly, there’s no point in continuing since this company is small and doesn't offer much room for growth, so nothing is really good enough.
- What is your approach to prioritizing projects?
Ad Operations Manager
Got reached out by a recruiter via a friend on LinkedIn. Had a screener with her, then a phone interview with the VP of Customer Success, followed by two on-sites in Palo Alto. The whole thing took about 3 weeks, but the holidays and me catching a cold slowed it down a bit. First on-site, met the CEO, CTO, and another Ad Ops manager. Interviews covered my background, then some fun math and logic cases. Really liked the people. Second on-site, met my potential day-to-day manager (Ad Ops Lead) and the VP of Customer Success. These were more behavioral, asking about how I'd handle certain situations and other character-based questions. Still had a great time. Got an offer about a week later but turned it down. Super impressed with the team and think they'll do big things. Shoutout to Amanda the recruiter, she was awesome.
- What is your definition of hard work?
Ad Operations Manager
It kicked off with a quick call from the recruiter, then a chat with someone from the AdOps team, followed by a data analysis task. After that, there was a video interview with a bunch of people, including the CEO, and it all wrapped up with a face-to-face meeting with the London team. The recruiter kept me in the loop about my progress and what was next, so I always knew where I stood. It was a really smooth process, and everyone I met was sharp and on the ball. Definitely one of the better interview experiences I've had.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
