First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kearney.
Associate Intern
The interview process involved 4 rounds in total. The first two rounds were with managers and were primarily focused on case study analysis. The subsequent two rounds also involved case studies, but also included questions to assess cultural fit within the company. It was quite thorough, exploring different industry sectors like aviation, media, and financial services. The fit interviews specifically looked into why I wanted to work at Kearney.
- Can you identify the various sources of income for an international train service operating in the Middle East?
- What drives your desire to work with Kearney?
- Tell me about what motivates you to pursue this opportunity.
Research Analyst
I had an interview with 3 consultants about the project. They asked about my fit for the role, why I was interested in Kearney and consulting, and why I was a good candidate. We discussed my data analysis skills and any direct experience I had with web crawling and big data handling. They also asked behavioral questions and did a resume walkthrough. Finally, there was a business case interview related to the project situation.
- Could you share the types of data you've worked with previously?
Business Analyst Intern
The interview process was quite unusual. It started with a pre-round call where I was given a mini-case, similar to the classic 'how many ping pong balls fit in an airplane' type. The first round was with someone who seemed inexperienced with case interviews. They presented a full case with three distinct questions upfront, each needing its own mini-framework. It felt like neither of us really knew what we were doing at that point, which was amusing. However, the HR aspect was notable. My first round occurred during the Maghreb athan prayer time in Ramadan, leading me to question if I'd still be considered for a second round. No feedback was provided, but I observed that others were being hired for the intern role via LinkedIn. I suspect they might have overestimated their intern needs for the rowaad program and then decided to stop communicating with candidates, which aligns with my friends' experiences.
- Were there any basic personality questions asked, and did you encounter a public sector case study?
- How were the basic personality questions, and what was the public sector case about?
Marketing Coordinator
The interviews were pretty laid back. Mostly, they asked about my past experience and threw in a few behavioral questions. Since the job is all about managing projects and people, the questions really focused on that. I spoke with several people, and ended up having around 5 interviews before they made me an offer.
- Can you describe how you manage challenging stakeholders?
- Tell me about your previous experience in marketing.
- How do you approach managing relationships with different stakeholders on a project?
