Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kearney.
Summer Associate
Went through two interviews. First one was a case interview, pretty straightforward. Second one was behavioral, focusing a lot on conflict questions with previous employers.
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with your boss.
Associate
I got this job through the school recruitment. The first stage had two interviews with the manager. Then, there were supposed to be two more interviews with a Partner for the second stage. But, I didn't get the invite for the Partner's interviews. I messaged the recruiter a bunch of times, and she replied at first but then stopped responding and didn't give any updates. The whole thing from when I applied until the Partner's round was supposed to happen took over 4 months.
- Tell me about yourself and general fit.
- How would you approach a market entry case study?
- What are your thoughts on a profitability case, focusing on qualitative aspects and ideas?
Senior Associate
The interview process had an initial phone screen in the 1st round, which involved 1 case interview and 1 behavioral question. The final round included 2 cases and 1 behavioral question. Standard consulting cases were used, with context varying by interviewer. The behavioral part was casual conversation about my resume and experience, along with standard behavioral questions. All interactions were pleasant.
- There was a case about profitability.
- Tell me about a time you collaborated with a difficult individual.
- Describe an instance where you had a negative reaction to your own actions.
