The interview process was quite unusual. It started with a pre-round call where I was given a mini-case, similar to the classic 'how many ping pong balls fit in an airplane' type. The first round was with someone who seemed inexperienced with case interviews. They presented a full case with three distinct questions upfront, each needing its own mini-framework. It felt like neither of us really knew what we were doing at that point, which was amusing. However, the HR aspect was notable. My first round occurred during the Maghreb athan prayer time in Ramadan, leading me to question if I'd still be considered for a second round. No feedback was provided, but I observed that others were being hired for the intern role via LinkedIn. I suspect they might have overestimated their intern needs for the rowaad program and then decided to stop communicating with candidates, which aligns with my friends' experiences.

I interviewed in the Johannesburg offices. It was 5 fit and case interviews. I was initially impressed by all the people I interacted with during the process and the communication after each interview stage. However, the tone changed as we neared the 5th and final interview- there were sudden requests to add more rounds which was confusing. After the fifth and final interview, the company ghosted me. It has been 2 months and there has been no communication whatsoever regarding their final decision. The process left me feeling humiliated, discarded and disrespected- I would have appreciated even a generic rejection email. It takes a lot to prepare for 5 case interviews and to get time off from a consulting job to attend those 5 interviews - the least a company can do is to communicate a decision to the candidate especially after they have gone through such a rigorous process to get to the final stage.
