First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Journeys.
Retail Sales Lead
The interview process involved questions about my potential contributions to the team, my ability to work in a collaborative environment with diverse individuals, and my capacity to deliver excellent customer service.
- What unique contributions can you bring to our team?
- How do you feel about working collaboratively with a variety of people on the team?
- Are you capable of providing outstanding customer service?
Sales Associate
It was a 2-step interview. First, I had a quick phone chat with the Manager. Then, I was invited for a second in-person meeting to discuss my retail experience. They also asked about my availability, specifically if I can work weekends and holidays.
- What's your retail industry experience?
- Have you done commission-based work before?
- Why are you interested in this job?
Sales Associate
The interview process felt unserious. They were not planning to hire anyone until the back-to-school season but posted the job and interviewed people in May. A call would have been better than wasting people's time, or they could have just cut the interview short.
- What's your favorite sneaker?
- Tell me about the shoes Journey's sells.
Assistant Manager
You'll have two in-person interviews, one with each of the managers, and then you might have one with a sales lead. They'll ask you different questions about retail and your skills. Some questions might be about your favorite shoes and if you know what brands Journeys sells.
- What steps would you take to resolve a situation where a customer was unhappy with their experience?
- Can you tell me about some of your favorite shoes?
- Are you familiar with the brands that Journeys carries?
