Behavioral Technical

I interviewed for the X-Ray team at JFrog and it was really bad. The whole process was messy and frustrating. My interviews got canceled or rescheduled three times, which felt disrespectful. I had an initial 30-minute screening with the team lead where we just talked about my resume. Then, I was supposed to have a 1.5-hour technical coding interview with the hiring manager. But just hours before, I found out the interviewer changed. Instead, I had a 45-minute session with a different manager, which was another resume review and no technical questions at all. The next day, they told me I didn't pass because of 'lack of experience,' even though I never got to show my technical skills. It felt like a waste of time and not fair. The recruiter was nice and tried to help, but this team's interview process is seriously flawed. I wouldn't suggest it to others.

Behavioral Technical Coding

My interview process involved a 30-minute phone chat with a recruiter about my background. Then, a 30-minute video call with the hiring manager, where we discussed my resume, why I'm a good fit, and their company's hybrid policies and on-call schedule. Finally, a 90-minute technical interview with two managers where I had to complete 4 tasks. I struggled with the first task, which was finding a text file on a server using Linux commands. The environment was friendly and helpful, and I learned a lot about network troubleshooting, like the difference between ping and traceroute and that telnet only checks allowed ports. It was just unfortunate that my skills weren't quite enough to move forward.

Coding Technical

I applied for a Senior Software Engineer position and went through 4 interviews. In the last interview, they told me I wasn't eligible for the senior role because I apparently lacked sufficient experience, claiming only those with over 10 years at the company qualify as seniors, which is false. When I inquired about an engineering ladder to assess qualifications, they seemed unfamiliar with the concept. I'm not interested in working there anymore; they interviewed me for a senior role and then stated it wasn't senior, plus they don't even have an engineering ladder, which is absurd.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I met with a bunch of people, like the recruiter, hiring manager, other team members, and HR. The process involved two trips to HQ. The second trip was all about a teaching presentation. Usually, this type of presentation is to see how well candidates can teach salespeople, but here, the two people in the mock teaching class seemed more focused on how well I could recall small facts about the Frog core product. For instance, they were more interested in the product's history rather than how I'd teach sales reps to connect product features and benefits to customer needs. This felt like a gotcha, which doesn't align with their value of Integrity.
