First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JFrog.
Software Engineer
First, there was a 15 minute chat with the recruiter. Then, a 30 minute zoom with the hiring manager. After that, a 1.5 hour technical interview where I had to implement a connection pool in an IDE. This was followed by a 1.5 hour design interview, where I walked through a past design and answered a system design question. Lastly, there was an hr interview.
- They asked me to implement connection pool.
- They showed me a product flow and asked how I would design a solution, trying to steer me towards their existing design.
Software Engineer
The HR team was super communicative throughout the process, keeping me updated on all the necessary steps. Even though I didn't pass the first interview, they were kind enough to see if another role might be a better fit and continued with that instead.
- Could you explain Dependency Injection?
- Describe a time you faced production issues and how you resolved them.
- What are the pros and cons of database indexing?
Software Engineer
I applied for a Senior Software Engineer position and went through 4 interviews. In the last interview, they told me I wasn't eligible for the senior role because I apparently lacked sufficient experience, claiming only those with over 10 years at the company qualify as seniors, which is false. When I inquired about an engineering ladder to assess qualifications, they seemed unfamiliar with the concept. I'm not interested in working there anymore; they interviewed me for a senior role and then stated it wasn't senior, plus they don't even have an engineering ladder, which is absurd.
- Could you implement a binary search for a one-dimensional array?
- Now, could you implement binary search for a 2D matrix?
- Please create a data structure that functions similarly to a Python dictionary, but includes a SetAll(value) method that operates in O(1) time complexity.
