First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Irvine Company.
Accountant
So I had this interview, and the interviewer was honestly not very professional, pretty disorganized. She called me like forty-five minutes early by accident, and left a voicemail apologizing. Then she called back at the actual scheduled time. What was weird was she started talking about a totally different job than the one I applied for. Four days later, I got told I didn't get the job.
- How do you contribute to maintaining a positive work environment?
Senior Manager
The interview process was way too long and really needs to be shorter. There were too many phone calls back and forth before the face to face interview. I thought the 'what if' scenario questions were way too extreme for the building environment, considering these are building systems like fire suppression that are designed and installed for these scenarios.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience related to the building envelope or exterior?
Associate
The recruiter first called to do a phone screen before sending my resume to the hiring managers at the office. Both interviews were about an hour long and were mostly conversations about how my experience fit the associate role. Personality and how I present myself seem to matter in the hiring process.
- What do you like most and least about working in customer service?
Leasing Concierge
It was a quick interview. They asked me about my past jobs and the reasons for leaving my current one. They also wanted to know if I had any experience in call centers or with phone-based roles. They seemed to really like my positive attitude and energy, because I got a call about two hours later offering me the position!
- What kind of company are you hoping to join?
- Can you describe your previous work experiences?
- What's prompting your departure from your current role?
