First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Irvine Company.
Administrative Assistant
First, we had a quick chat over the phone to go over my resume and see if I was a good fit. Then, I had a video call on Zoom with the person who would be my manager. We talked more about the job and how my experience would help the team.
- What tools do you use to stay organized?
Administrative Assistant
I got referred by a recruiter. They already had my background info and didn't ask much. The two ladies were super nice and told me all about their jobs and the company's different properties.
- Can you share a bit about yourself?
Executive Assistant
I had heard so many great things about The Irvine Company, but unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I was interviewed by someone who seemed like an amateur, possibly only 20 years old. It felt insulting to have taken time out of my day for an interview with someone who couldn't even explain the job properly and was also rude. I know I was qualified, even overqualified for the role. I think maybe a team of 3 or more people should conduct interviews. It seemed like this interviewer was either having a bad day or disliked me based on my appearance. The experience felt very personal, truly the worst interview I've ever had.
- Describe a situation where a decision you made resulted in a negative outcome. What steps did you take, and what was the final result?
