The interview process involved an initial online interview, followed by a technical assessment, and then an onsite interview. It was a total of four rounds, and they were relatively easy if you knew your stuff. The final interview was a cultural fit assessment with the manager.

Behavioral Technical

The recruitment process at Investec seemed quite organised and straightforward at first. However, after a few rounds, communication just stopped, and there was no feedback or outcome. It's quite disappointing, especially since I took time off work and travelled for multiple interviews. The company itself seems like a good place to work, but candidates should at least receive basic respect and some closure, particularly when they're in the later stages of the process and have invested a lot of time and effort. I'm hoping that future candidates will have a more transparent and considerate experience.

First, we submitted our CVs. Then, we had to answer some basic questions about ourselves and our studies by recording videos. We had one minute to prepare and one minute to record each answer, and we could re-record one answer per question. After that, there was a 30-minute personality screening interview via MS Teams. The next step was a two-day conference at their Sandton offices, where they covered food, transport, and accommodation. These two days involved talks from employees in different departments, a team programming project, and a short 15-minute interview. Finally, there were two 30-minute panel interviews, each with four interviewers, conducted over MS Teams.

The process started with a call with an HR Partner, followed by a call with the Hiring Manager less than a week later. I got feedback within 24 hours. While I wasn't successful, the feedback was helpful in understanding why I wasn't the right fit. Overall, it was a great candidate experience with Investec, very professional. It was one of the smoothest and quickest processes I've encountered in my year-long job search.
